Proud & Eager

My TFA acceptance has buoyed me for the past week. I am so proud to be an incoming corps member (CM) and so eager to teach science, especially in South Louisiana/SLA. I had a call with my region’s Program Coordinator shortly after I committed last week and she sounded so positive. I also attended a reception for TFA folks in the DC area on Thursday — how refreshing to be in a room full of like-minded people!

Currently, I am challenged by the many items on the 4th deadline applicant task lists! I think the Dear Father was somewhat overwhelmed when I told him that I need to be in Baton Rouge in less than 2 months. Luckily, none of my to-dos has been too time consuming yet. I just needed to register for the Praxis certification/licensing exams, take a placement survey and join the TFA SLA Facebook group (the coolest)! I am excited to be getting my pre-institute training materials in a few weeks, but first, I need to finish my own schoolwork. 2 more weeks as an undergrad!
